Over Looking The Lake Snowmobiling & Winter Activities Moosehead Lake is a premier New England winter sports destination. We have a full service ski area just 4 miles out of town (Squaw Mountain), reknowned ice fishing on the lake, dog sled rides, winter car racing on the ice each weekend, cross country skiing, and most of all, snowmobiling. The Black Frog is right on the lake in East Cove, and within a good 3 iron of ITS 86 which connects with all major trails in Maine, NH, and Quebec. When the lake is frozen, there is unlimited snowmobile parking on the ice in front of the building, and trailer and truck parking across the street. Snowmobile rentals are available through Northern Outfitters, only a few shops away and we provide a unique guide service for newcomers to the sport. Based at East Cove in Greenville and operated by the Black Frog, full food and beverage service is available on board from hors d'oevres to full dinners such as lobster or filet mignon. Beverage service can be anything from soft drinks, beer and wine to your favorite liquors.
